Celebrities and Breast Cancer Awareness month
We were all touched by Christina Applegate’s story, when this summer she was diagnosed with breast cancer and then had a double mastectomy. She is now cancer-free.
Before her, other celebrities went through the same ordeal and had to fight the disease. Among them, actress Suzanne Somers was diagnosed 7 years ago was treated immediately; pop singer Anastacia’s doctor announced her the shocking news in 2003; country/rock singer Melissa Etheridge got her diagnostic 4 years ago; pop singer Kylie Minogue got hers a year later; Sheryl Crow’s tumor was removed in 2006, as Sex and The City’s Cynthia Nixon chose to live her experience in private.
Actresses Shirley Temple and Olivia Newton-John, former First Ladies Betty Ford and Nancy Reagan, Sopranos‘ “Carmela” Edie Falco, even Shaft’s Richard Roundtree was diagnosed with the deadly disease.
Breast cancer can also affect men and can hit anyone, any time.
These celebrities are all survivors.
Please give to help save lives.
