Isaac Hayes dies at age 65
Soul legend Isaac Hayes was found unconscious by a relative near his still running treadmill this sunday at around 1pm. After being rushed to the Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Made famous by the theme song for the movie Shaft for which he won an Oscar and a Grammy, he has also been the voice of SouthPark’s Chef from 1997 to 2006, until he ended his contract with the production team after they mocked Scientology, his religion.
According to time.com, Isaac Hayes leaves behind one widow, three ex-wives, twelve children, fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. His last child was his son Nana Kwadjo, born in 2006 from wife Adjowa.
