Not that they wouldn’t like to, but critics will not be able to criticize the film just yet. Paramount pictures has decided that it will NOT allow critics to see it’s newest summer blockbuster, G.I. Joe: The Rise of The Cobra, before its release on Friday. That’s right! There will be no reviews telling you to see it or skip it, revealing plotlines, or pointing out problems with the film at all.

Paramount ’s vice chairman said “After the chasm we experienced with Transformers 2 between the response of audiences and critics, we chose to forgo opening-day print and broadcast reviews as a strategy to promote G.I. Joe.” . Interesting.

Transformers recieved mixed to bad reviews across the board, but has been nothing but a money maker, so we don’t know if we agree with this strategy. However, this may create buzz, which we know will only add to interest in the movie, good or bad, which should translate in dollar$.
