Morgan Freeman, seriously injured in car crash
71 year old actor/Oscar winner Morgan Freeman and Demaris Meyer, a close friend of the family, have been hospitalized after being involved in a serious car accident in Memphis, Tennessee, early monday morning. It was confirmed that there was no alcohol involved. Ms. Meyer was released from the hospital that same night.
Rescuers had to use “Jaws of Life” to extract Mr. Freeman from the car. The rescue-team reported by that he still had a good sense of humor and even made a few jokes during the whole operation.
Morgan Freeman apparently fell asleep on the wheel and lost control of his car, which ended up in a ditch after flipping several times. He had to be airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis.
He suffers from serious injuries to his neck, shoulders, knees as well as a broken arm, elbow and ribs.
